Research Interest/Projects:

The aim of my current research is to determine if stress, induced by cardiopulmonary bypass, pain, or other mechanisms, during the neonatal period causes long term changes in the brain and to determine the mechanism of these changes.

The long-term aim would be to develop therapeutic measures to minimize stress in the neonatal period thus minimizing psychiatric and behavioral morbidity in older children and adults.
